The David Stinson Theatre School is located in Blackheath. Since its launch in 2010 by David Stinson FRSA, who is also the founder of a globally recognised exam board, the school has committed to providing exceptional training in acting, dance, singing, musical theatre, piano, and public speaking. The faculty comprises leading professionals from London's West End, ensuring outstanding teaching.
Students benefit from an exciting curriculum that includes the opportunity to take Ofqual-regulated exams, thereby earning UCAS points. Our students perform in various shows and community events throughout the year.
Moreover, the school operates a talent agency, successfully placing many students in prestigious West End productions and in TV and film roles. It also offers one of Blackheath’s most sought-after holiday clubs, providing affordable full-time childcare during school breaks, which operates from 8am to 6pm, from just £130 a week.
Additionally, David Stinson Theatre School is the first in London to gain the rights to deliver and partner with Ready Set Dance, a preschool dance programme endorsed and part-produced by Nickelodeon.

David Stinson is a highly accomplished performer and educator, with performance experience spanning the West End and international stages as a professional singer and dancer. As the founder of the David Stinson Theatre School, he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of performers, designing a curriculum that emphasises diversity and accessibility in the arts.
David also leads as the CEO & Founder of International Performing Arts & Theatre (I-PATH), an exam board offering Ofqual-regulated qualifications. His background includes roles in education, business coaching, and school management, where he has made a positive impact on schools and students alike.
Beyond his work in the performing arts, David is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the UN's International Dance Council, advocating for arts education worldwide. In 2024, he launched a foundation to expand his philanthropic efforts, ensuring the arts remain accessible to all.
Jayanti is a dedicated local mum who brings a strong sense of care, professionalism, and creativity to her role as Vice Principal of Operations at the David Stinson Theatre School. Passionate about supporting children and young people, she plays a key role in creating a nurturing, inspiring environment where young performers can thrive. She is also a valued part of the David Stinson Holiday Clubs team, helping to deliver fun, high-quality experiences during school breaks.
With over seven years of experience in finance, Jayanti has worked in senior roles across leading organisations, including as Manager at National Geographic Channel Network (India) Pvt. Ltd. and Deputy Manager at Aircel Limited. Her background in financial operations, internal audit, and systems management brings great strength to our growing team.
Jayanti’s passion for the arts, her dedication to the school, and her belief in the power of creative education make her an integral part of the David Stinson leadership team.
Chris is a highly respected musician and alum of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, renowned for his exceptional skill as a pianist on an international scale. His versatility spans opera, musical theatre, classical, and contemporary music, demonstrating profound expertise in his field. Moreover, Chris is a sought-after vocal coach, working with notable figures such as the choreographers of 'Hamilton' and 'Six.'
His professional journey includes significant achievements across various global venues. He notably contributed as Associate Musical Director for "Three Sides The Musical" at the 45th Street Theatre, receiving high praise for his work. His roles have expanded to Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master for productions like Carmen, Savitri, and La Boheme at the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok. His directorial talents have been showcased in international productions, including Madame Butterfly in Kuwait, La Boheme’s South Asia Tour, and on P&O Cruises ships MVs Artemis and Arcadia. Locally, Chris has enriched productions such as "The Family Hoffmanns Christmas Mystery Palace" at The MAC in Belfast, "Til The Boys Come Home" at the Sydenham Arts Festival, and "Orton" at the ATS Theatre.
In the educational sphere, Chris has made significant contributions to London's leading arts institutions, including The Urdang Academy, Rose Bruford College, Arts Ed, and the London School of Musical Theatre. Currently, he is fostering the next generation of musical theatre talent at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Be.Training Programme, Northfleet School for Girls, and the Laura Bruce Dance Academy, in addition to his role as musical director for The Place choir and the Claremont Project Gospel Choir. His expertise has also benefitted Hollywood actors and West End stars.

Darcey Jessup is a talented and versatile performer with a passion for musical theatre and cabaret. Her journey began at the prestigious SSA (Stinson Stage Academy) in Mayfair, where she honed her foundational skills. She then progressed to full-time training at the renowned Chantry Dance College, further refining her craft.
Following her time at Chantry, Darcey continued her education at the University of Chichester, where she specialised in Musical Theatre and Cabaret Performance. This comprehensive training has equipped her with a dynamic skill set, enabling her to excel in a wide range of roles.

Imogen is a London-based Musical Theatre performer and teacher. She has performed in major stage and screen productions.
She made her West End debut in 2019 as part of the Original West End Cast of BIG The Musical at the Dominion Theatre. More recently, she joined the Original West End Cast of Your Lie in April at the Harold Pinter Theatre. During this run, she performed at West End Live and featured on the official cast recording, released earlier this year.
Her screen credits include roles in Silo (Apple TV) and Phoenix Rise (BBC iPlayer), adding to her versatility as a performer.
Alongside performing, Imogen is passionate about inspiring the next generation of theatre talent. For the past three years, she has taught Musical Theatre to children aged 3–16, sharing her industry knowledge and love for the stage with young performers.
Temple is no stranger to the David Stinson Theatre School – she first taught with us 15 years ago when the school began. Since then, she’s built an impressive career as a performer and creative. Her dance and vocal skills are phenomenal, with appearances ranging from the ITV to The X Factor as part of the band Alien Uncovered, mentored by Cheryl Cole.
Now a proud mum, Temple continues to work in the industry, writing lyrics for bands, commercials, and other creative projects. She’s excited to rejoin DSTS and I-PATH to begin her long-term teaching career with us. With her boundless energy, heart of gold, and natural ability to inspire confidence, Temple brings a wealth of experience and star quality that will have a huge impact on every student she teaches.
Alice Barker began her musical journey at the age of 8, mastering the flute to an impressive Grade 7 level and piano at a young age. With a passion for the flute and piano, and a natural aptitude for learning multiple instruments, Alice has honed her skills across a range of musical disciplines.
She brings her deep love for music and years of experience to her teaching, offering fun and engaging lessons specifically designed for young learners. Her patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style ensures that each student progresses at their own pace while building a strong technical foundation.
Alice is dedicated to fostering creativity and confidence in her students, guiding and inspiring the next generation of musicians on their musical journey.
Miss Beth (Elizabeth Black) is a multi-talented musician, performer, and teacher, currently studying BA Actor Musicianship at Rose Bruford College. She is an accomplished pianist (Grade 7), clarinettist (Grade 5), and vocalist with a Musical Theatre diploma, alongside a strong background in music theory and performance.
Beth has worked as a Musical Director for theatre companies and productions, arranging and composing original music, leading rehearsals, and coaching performers in both vocal and character work. She has also taught children and young people in one-to-one and group settings, inspiring them to grow in confidence and develop their creative skills.
Passionate about helping students reach their potential, Beth brings a friendly, encouraging, and highly skilled approach to her teaching. At David Stinson Theatre School, she offers private lessons in piano, keyboard, clarinet, singing, and acting, tailoring each session to the individual’s goals – whether that’s preparing for exams, boosting performance skills, or learning for fun.
Dino Fontes brings his expertise in law and governance to the David Stinson Theatre School. With a deep passion for the arts and education, he provides strategic, legal and business guidance, ensuring compliance, financial sustainability, and operational efficiency.
Dino is a senior banking lawyer with extensive experience within financial institutions. He advises on a broad range of in-house matters, from lending transactions to commercial contracts and company secretarial matters.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Modern Languages (Spanish & Portuguese) at Trinity College, Oxford, and gained his legal qualifications at The College of Law, London.
Dino is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and, in his spare time, he is the Legal & Business Consultant of International Performing Arts and Theatre (I-PATH); a Director, the Company Secretary and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Sputnik Theatre Company, an independent British theatre company dedicated to sourcing, translating and producing international drama for British audiences; a Trustee of both the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Trust and of The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Benevolent Fund; the Board Advisor of Living Bankside, a local community engagement charitable organisation in London SE1; and the Associate Producer of Once in a While (a musical by Jane Morgan), as well as a Director and the Company Secretary of its production company, Dear Bernard.
His dedication to the arts, combined with his legal acumen, makes him an invaluable asset to the organisations he supports.
Reuben Gibbs is a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach currently studying for a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Reuben has competed in amateur rugby and swimming, and has actively participated in a wide range of sports over the years.
With over three years’ experience delivering after-school and holiday clubs across the borough of Greenwich, Reuben is known for creating engaging, high-energy sessions that promote teamwork, fitness, and confidence. He is also a qualified FA match official and regularly referees across the South East, including fixtures for Premier League academies and semi-professional teams.
Reuben combines a strong foundation of professional experience with a dynamic and approachable coaching style, fostering a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for all young athletes.
Theo is a university student with a fantastic rapport with the children. David Stinson has known him since he was a young boy, as Theo’s mum - an Executive Headteacher – gave David the opportunity to launch the theatre school back in 2010. It’s wonderful to keep the DSTS team feeling like one big family.
Jack is a former DSTS student from many years ago who, while now studying Computer Science, still has a strong passion for the Performing Arts. His mum happens to be the Headteacher of Leigh Academy Blackheath - our home - so it’s wonderful to keep the DSTS team feeling like one big family.
